The Ford F-250 is known for its capability, reliability, and performance. It’s the pickup truck you want when you need towing and hauling power. For the 2026 model year, Ford made a few changes to the available options and added some styling touches to the truck. This guide examines what you can expect to see with the 2026 Ford F-250.

What’s New: 2026 Ford F-250 Key Highlights

Most of the changes to the 2026 Ford F-250 are tech and safety-related. You’ll find small styling updates to the front grille and the lighting, along with new color options. The optional packages are streamlined to give buyers the features they want in one convenient bundle.

Exterior Design Changes and Styling Updates

The big exterior design news is the return of the 6.75-foot bed. This bed is popular among contractors and local builders. It offers ample space while still allowing the F-250 to maneuver in tighter areas around Trevose and on Philadelphia city streets.

New exterior colors, such as Argon Blue Metallic and Marsh Gray Metallic, offer additional options.

Interior Upgrades and Cabin Features

The interior of the 2026 F-250 remains unchanged from that of the 2025 model. The entry-level XL is your work truck with the basics. Step up to the XLT for cloth upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Lariat offers several extras, including heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, and a power-adjustable passenger seat, which complements the power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The King Ranch enters luxury territory with massaging front seats, and the Platinum adds the option for a dual-pane sunroof and premium leather upholstery. This trim also offers Pro Power Onboard, providing a 2 kW electrical outlet in the bed for powering external devices.

Engine Options and Powertrain Specifications

The engine lineup for the 2026 Ford F-250 remains the same. It starts with a 6.8-liter gas V-8 that puts out 405 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Up next, a 7.3-liter gas V-8 delivers 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque. If you prefer a diesel engine to power your pickup, the 6.7-liter turbodiesel with 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque will impress.

Ford also offers a high-output version of the turbodiesel. It delivers 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque. All engine options are available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and they are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance Capabilities and Towing Capacity

An F-250 with the SuperCrew cab and four-wheel drive can accelerate from zero to 60 in just 5.5 seconds. If towing and hauling power is more important than acceleration speeds, then the F-250 is still your best option. Towing capacity depends on the engine and configuration.

  • 6.8-liter V-8 gas: up to 17,300 pounds with a fifth-wheel or conventional hitch
  • 7.3-liter gas V-8: up to 19,500 pounds with a fifth wheel or 18,000 pounds with a conventional hitch
  • 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel: up to 22,300 pounds with a fifth-wheel or 22,000 pounds with a conventional hitch
  • 6.7-liter high-output Power Stroke diesel: up to 23,000 pounds with a fifth wheel or conventional hitch

To make towing easier and safer, the 2026 Ford F-250 offers a range of towing features and technologies.

  • Pro Trailer Hitch Assist: This feature helps drivers align the trailer hitch with the trailer.
  • 360-degree camera views: Several camera systems around the truck provide the driver with a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle and extend to the trailer.
  • Onboard scales: This feature provides a dashboard display that offers the driver real-time monitoring of their cargo.
  • Smart trailer tow connector: This system helps diagnose trailer light problems.
  • Integrated trailer brake controller: This system is optional on trims above the base and standard on higher-end trims. It automatically connects to the trailer’s electric brakes, keeping them in sync with the F-250’s brakes.

Technology and Infotainment Systems

The F-250’s updated tech features keep you connected, whether you’re hauling a trailer on a busy I-276 or bringing your camper to French Creek State Park. The Ford connectivity package offers features such as Wi-Fi, connected navigation, and streaming, helping keep everyone in the truck informed and entertained.

The 2026 F-250 has the same technology features as the 2025 model. The higher trims have a 12-inch touchscreen display in the center of the dash. It comes equipped with Ford’s infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford Connected Services provides you with an available Wi-Fi hotspot. Charging your phone is a breeze with the available wireless charging pad and several USB ports in the cabin.

Ford Co-Pilot 360 brings safety technology to the F-250. It includes features such as forward collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-keep assist. A rearview camera is also standard. Additional available safety features include reverse brake assist with rear parking sensors, lane-centering, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go.

Intersection assist will alert you to oncoming traffic when entering an intersection, and the available head-up display displays important information directly on the windshield, within the driver’s line of sight. Automatic high beams are another available safety feature.
